The Tower

The tower stands alone. Its magnificence emphasized in its solitude and structural complexity. Powerful in size – it overwhelms, it stands guard. Whether looming or supplying, the power is constant and humbling. Its role - to provide electricity - simply put, to provide life. An odd image - cold and rigid, but supplies warmth and movement. Society relies on the tower. With reliance, comes dependence, granting another level and kind of power. What goes most unnoticed is the fragile nature of the man-made structure. The fragility is hidden behind the many strengths but man is not perfect, and so there is the threat of a tiny but deadly flaw. The greater menace – society’s constant attack on and neglect of the failing environment. The tower stands alone - perhaps it should not.
